Guide Report offensive or harassing content on Twitter

The Cyber Hate Assistant has put together a guide to how you can report offensive content on Twitter. It could be harassing or otherwise inappropriate content that violates the community policy.

How to report a profile:

  1. Go to the profile page.
  2. Click on the three dots in the top right of the profile.
  3. Click “report”.
  4. Follow any further instructions.

How to report an individual tweet:

  1. Click on the downwards arrow in the top right of the post.
  2. Choose “report tweet”.
  3. Follow any further instructions.

To report a message that has been sent through Direct Message:

If you want to report the entire chat, open the conversation and click on the symbol with an exclamation mark in the top right. From there, choose “report user”. Follow any further instructions.

If you want to report a specific message, tap and hold on the message and then click “report message”. Follow any further instructions.

Remember that everyone who provides public digital services where people can post content, such as Twitter, is responsible for monitoring the service and for removing and preventing the proliferation of content that is not compliant with certain laws and regulations.
